Kootenay Adjusting is a uniquely adjuster-owned company, which has been a cornerstone of the community since the early 1980’s. Run by Gary Kanda since 2001, this business has an office in Nelson, Trail, and Kimberley which lets the adjusters strategically cover both the East and West Kootenay area of the southeast interior of British Columbia. Kootenay Adjusting’s affiliate offices in Abbotsford and Prince George operate under the KC Adjusting banner covering the lower mainland and northern BC. Kootenay Adjusting’s goal is to assist clients as they navigate the complex issues of insurance losses.

- Gary, owner and senior adjuster of Kootenay Adjusting, has been involved in the insurance business for 39+ years. His experience is in all avenues of the insurance process from residential property, recreational vehicles, pleasure craft vessels, to commercial property and liability losses, which has provided Gary with a well-rounded resume.
- Sarah Gabl, a welcome addition to the Kimberley office, brings a wealth of experience with her 29 years of insurance knowledge. Her background with national adjusting companies and routine handling of large property losses positions Sarah to handle any type of loss.
- Lorraine Ferns is an energetic lady with the CIP designation and 16 years of experience. Lorraine is an accomplished property adjuster serving an area from Fraser Valley to the coast.
- Eugene Brischuk brings 37 years of adjusting experience, including heavy duty equipment appraisal, to our Prince George office which covers all of Northern BC.
- Claire Ferns is an adjuster trainee working along side Lorraine Ferns to cover the lower mainland.
- Joanne Dietrich, the administrative assistant has been involved in the Insurance business for 34+ years. The lengthy career in the field provides her with a vast knowledge of the claims processes.
